Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital. The comprehensive healthcare system includes a 484 bed academic medical center, a large outpatient Clinic & Specialty Center, and a network of primary and specialty care clinics in Minneapolis and in suburban communities. Hennepin Healthcare has a large psychiatric program, home care and hospice, and operates a research institute, innovation center and philanthropic foundation. SUMMARY We are seeking a Clinical Informaticist to join our team. This part time role will work 64 hours per pay period (days). This is a temporary role through December 2022. To provide consultation and coordination of clinical information systems and processes that integrate clinical and information science for patient centered care. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide support to patient care and operational areas in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining efficient, effective clinical information and operational systems Participate in the development, implementation and ongoing operation and optimization of clinical decision making systems and processes and information systems that support effective, efficient, safe, timely, equitable and patient-centered care Participate in quality improvement projects – both in consultative and project lead roles Participate in other projects pertaining to organizational goals and strategies and regulatory requirements – both in consultative and project lead roles Provide consultative informatics services to clinical and operational staff Support the Analytic and Information Technology governance structure Provide direct support to clinical users of EHR and promote adoption of new or changed workflows amongst clinical users Perform data analysis on performance and utilization of alerts, order sets, and patient outcomes to evaluate effectiveness of interventions and opportunities for optimization. Develop reports/spreadsheets/ databases using a variety of tools using data from multiple sources Maintain knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS and other relevant regulatory requirements and provides advice regarding information system impact on meeting regulatory standards QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: Advanced degree in informatics or healthcare-related field OR Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting Informatics and/or clinical relational database experience Experience with clinical workflows -OR- An approved equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience with computer programming, statistical tools, databases and evidence based medicine or medical research methodology Experience facilitating interdisciplinary clinical/ operational improvement activities with increasing complexity, responsibility and demonstrated results Experience in healthcare setting including working directly with and providing feedback to clinicians Epic certification in at least one Epic module Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: Strong project management skills Excellent communication skills, oral and written General knowledge of data collection, analysis and reporting Strong computer …
