The Patient Access Manager professional is responsible for all aspects of Patient Access. The Patient Access Manager of Patient Access ensures staff follows policies and procedures and supports exceptional customer service. Manages daily department performance and ensures orientation and continued education of departmental staff. Supports and promotes the vision, mission, and strategic plans of Methodist Health System
Your Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s Degree (or higher) preferred
Equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement
Data processing/keyboard skills required (35 wpm with accuracy)
Ability to perform basic math calculations
Exceptional customer service experience, preferably in healthcare or a service industry
Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products
Strong oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving
Ability to plan and schedule the work of others

Oversees facility patient access functions to ensure daily operations are maintained according to established performance standards.
Ensures high levels of performance, achievement of goals and quality of results through coaching and mentoring staff.
Manages the hiring, training, discharge of department staff, and that evaluations are done timely.
Ensures department meets monthly budget and provides information to the Director as needed for variance analysis.
Ensures the development and implementation of appropriate systems to facilitate smooth operations of routine functions of patient registration.
Monitors and implements changes to improve patient satisfaction for patient registration.
Plans and organizes activities by developing and monitoring registration goals, assuring their alignment with those of the organization, and ensuring their achievement.
Serves as the liaison for patient registration to promote harmonious relationships with patients, administration, medical staff and other departments.
Supervises the purchase/inventory of supplies. Performs any miscellaneous duty which aids in the normal department operations.
Tracks insurance verification, up front collections and implements changes when needed.
