Completes and maintains all regulatory requirements including licensing and certification, and other mandatory training within established time frames.
Submits documentation 2 weeks prior to evaluation or as appropriate.
Requirements may consist of, but are not limited to TB Testing, Safety Test, Compliance Training, HIPAA Training, Lic. and Certifi., other Patient/Customer Satisfaction
This standard is mandatory for those employees who have direct patient contact and may only be measured using an entity, department, unit or specific question Press-Ganey score.
A patient satisfaction or customer service standard may be developed for non-direct patient care employees at the manager’s discretion. Communication
Reports any malfunctions or questionable loads to the Lead Technician or Supervisor.
Provides appropriate information to facilitate receipt of MSDS.
Maintains necessary verbal communication via clear shift reports and communication logs.
Notifies SPD lead/Nursing units of positive biologicals/wet loads, equipment malfunctions.
Obtains approval from resource/charge nurse to process incomplete sets. Department competency completing all initial competencies.
Consistently demonstrating competency as identified in the on-going assessment and evaluation.
Implementing and adapting the comprehensive, age/culturally appropriate plans using patient care interventions with patient and family.
A minimum of three years in an acute care hospital, sterile processing, or surgery department or completion of a program for sterile processing/central supply technician (Preferred at SCVMC). * Thorough knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, general hospital supplies and equipment (Preferred at SCVMC). CA CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURE: * Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) – Asset

Acute Care Hospital: 3 years (Preferred)
